Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Is Aware of Fans' Second Season Bingo Cards — And She Has Positive Updates

The much-anticipated Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform soon, and fan speculation has been intense.

Season 1 introduces a diverse group of characters living within the afterlife, sets them at odds with songs detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that drive audience devotion.

The community's expectations for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads recur frequently: Will a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the binding agreement constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with fan service specifically in mind," the showrunner commented earlier this year. "However I believe that me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That could imply fans have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast season 2 progresses, and how much of what they're anticipating happens now.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some really cool origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about the upcoming season — particularly in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've seen a couple people create a prediction grid about season 2," she says. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've already completed some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
